Anzac Memorial

Modern History students discover the Anzac Memorial

Year 11 Modern History students had an enthralling learning experience at the Anzac Memorial at Hyde Park. Students pondered the meaning of a memorial, listened to the experiences of a veteran, were entertained by actress portraying the role of nurses WW1, toured the Memorial and explored the exhibitions. - Mrs Haskett

Overall, I enjoyed the excursion and like learning more about memorials and how they can help us to remember important historical events. Being able to learn more about the WW1 and people’s experiences in war was also interesting. - Patrick Adams

Our excursion to the Anzac Memorial was an incredibly insightful and memorable experience, opening up a whole new way to view how we commemorate and remember Australia’s war efforts. Listening to a contemporary veteran and watching a live reenactment of WW1 experiences, really shows the importance of memorialising significant events such as these. – Cisem Kolac

Overall, the excursion was one of the best experience I had as I learnt so many content about the memorial. - Harry Le
