Showtime

The Greatest Show!

After two years of showcasing student work online, in Week 6 our Creative and Performing Arts faculty was once again able to hold a live event. I am sure that all in attendance would agree that it was a wonderful show and that the artworks and performances of our students were outstanding.

The number of parents, friends, past and present students and staff, far exceeded expectations and if was fantastic to be able to hold such an uplifting event for our school community. There is more written about the Showcase later in this newsletter, but I wish to thank all of our artists, performers and CAPA staff for allowing us to see the results of your hard work. Thank you to everyone who attended on the evening.

The Final Countdown

Year 12 now have less than 20 school days before they complete their learning here at Cecil. The school assessment process has now finished and student rankings for each course have been determined. This means that students are no longer competing against each other for higher ranks. Now, they must work together and support each other to maximise the amount of marks received for each course to increase our pool of marks when NESA moderates our assessment.  For more information on this moderation process, please watch the video below.

It is important that students focus on study and revision at this time as enormous gains can be made through revision, addressing feedback from the Trial Examinations and by completing past HSC papers.

School Administrative and Support Staff Recognition Week

Week 8 is SASS Recognition Week where we recognise our front office staff, library assistants, kitchen assistants, science assistants, support unit teacher aides, mainstream teacher aides, general assistants, cleaners, gardeners and SASS leaders. They make our school a fantastic place to work and learn every day.

P&C Meetings

Our P&C meetings are run as information sessions for parents and we value your input to help us with our decision-making. Our next meeting will be held at 6:30pm on Monday, 5 September 2022 and will occur online. A link will be sent to parents on this date and we hope to see many of you online!
