Swinburne VTAC Info Night | Registrations now open

Date: Tuesday 30 August 2022

Time: 4pm – 6pm

Location: Ground Floor, ATC Building, Hawthorn campus

With thousands of students and families in attendance and nearly 300 events in total, we can happily say that last month’s Open Day was one of our biggest ever. While Open Day is a great introduction to course options and uni life, it's a lot of information for students to take in.

Our VTAC Info Night is a smaller event, but another timely opportunity for students to meet with academics, teaching staff, industry professionals and current Swinburne students to have all their questions about courses, getting real industry experience and university life answered.

Several interactive sessions will allow students to get hands-on experience in different areas of study – from testing their cyber skills to find common website vulnerabilities that a hacker might use, to going on an AstroTour to explore the solar system and beyond in the Swinburne Virtual Reality Theatre.

For students interested in aviation, a dedicated one-hour information session will be hosted at VTAC Info Night with information on the costs, scholarship opportunities, entry requirements and career prospects.

Registrations for Swinburne VTAC Info Night are now open.

Panellists will also discuss how to apply for courses and answer a range of frequently asked questions.

The Early Entry Program is now open, and we’ve already made more than 300 offers to Year 12 students.

There is still time for students to apply.

Early Entry Program applications will remain open until Thursday 6 October

Course highlight: Space Technology co-major

With the space science industry forecast to grow exponentially both globally and domestically in the next 20 years, our space technology co-major offers graduates the understanding and skills they need to pursue a career in this ever-emerging industry.

As part of our Bachelor of Science, students can choose to take a co-major in space technology, where they complete several units that deepen their understanding of space operations and the space science ecosystem. The co-major is taken in addition to our other majors and suits any student looking to pursue careers in areas such as space engineering and research

Each student is important to us, and our scholarships and grants support people from all walks of life – helping build the communities we’re proud to be part of.

Guaranteed ATAR

A Guaranteed ATAR enables a student to plan and list their course preferences with confidence. If the Year 12 student receives an ATAR equal or above this number, meets the course prerequisites and any ‘essential requirements for admission’, Federation University will guarantee them a place in the course.

Please keep in mind that if the student receives an ATAR below the guarantee, they may still receive a place. The lowest ATAR/selection rank for our courses varies from year to year and is influenced by the number of applicants for the course at each location, and the number of places available. We will use the student’s adjusted ATAR (selection rank) when determining if they have reached the Guaranteed ATAR. Please click here to view our 2023 Guaranteed ATARs

Don’t forget that our website provides information on alternate options for meeting maths and science prerequisites for many of our courses.
