Creators & Designers Prep Inquiry Unit – can you help us?
Our Term 3 Inquiry unit, Creators and Designers, will see students exploring a range of materials and the ways that they can be changed. For our ‘Tuning In’ activities, we require a variety of materials for students to sort, as well as explore the possible ways to change the objects/materials. If you have any of the following materials lying around at home that you would be happy to donate to the Prep area, we would be very grateful!
The following is a list of some suggested materials:
- Metal: paperclip, pipe cleaner, foil, spoon
- Plastic: straw, spoon, bottle, container
- Rubber: balloon, rubber band
- Wood: stick, icypole stick
- Paper: plain paper, crepe, cardboard, paper towel
- Glass: marbles
- Other: sponge, tissue, a piece of fabric, playdough, a ball of wool, elastic, cotton wool, rock or stone
Thank you,
Kylie Smith, Sophie Cartelli & Emily Seing
Sports News
Tomorrow, we start our term 3 interschool sports program. All students in grades 5 and 6 will be participating in the following sports: bat tennis, rounders and soccer. Our first game is away against Macleod College. The soccer and bat tennis teams will be walking to Macleod College. Unfortunately, Macleod doesn’t participate in rounders. The students in the rounders teams will remain at school for a training session with Ms Zealley. Games begin at 12.15 pm with the girls’ teams playing first.
Netball Results
Congratulations to both our A and B netball teams for qualifying for the HDSSA finals. Our A team had a comfortable win in the semi-finals and progressed to the grand final.
Unfortunately, they lost by 1 goal in a nail biter game against St Martins and walked away with the Runners Up Pennant. Our B team were knocked out in a close game in the semi-finals. Still, a great effort considering most of the girls have never played netball before. A big thank you to Jacquie Macneill for helping on the day.
