What are the House

Captains getting up to?

Written by Iclal & Anna on The 26th of July

The house captains at Albanvale Primary School help make our school a better place by assisting teachers in organising fun events and speaking on behalf of the students in their House at school functions and other special events. They also mentor other students in their House by co-operating with students as they take on other leadership roles. To look a little bit closer into what goes into making this group run, we interviewed two of the club’s members and asked them some questions. This is what we found:

We interviewed Mikashni and Dong
What is the main reason that this group is a part of the young leaders program?

This group's main reason for existing is to help our school by making it a better place and letting kids play with equipment fairly. We play an important role in encouraging them to be more happy and healthy.

What do you do each week on Tuesday afternoon?

Right now, we are pumping up flat balls so kids can play with them. We also discuss new things we should do for our school to make it a better place. At times we also make posters to promote things around the school.

Why do you think this group is important for students at Albanvale Primary School?

This group is important because it helps to be more organised. Right now, that means helping the school and students become more active, happier, and stronger. With good equipment and fun games we can encourage kids to go outside more and be more agile.

What is your favourite part of being in this group?
I really like to help the school and children by getting them to be more energetic and lively. This is something that I am passionate about and I can't wait to do other things in the House Captain group.

This is an amazing part of the Young Leader Program and everyone in this group were all so excited to be a part of it. Make sure that when you get the chance have a look at the amazing work that the House Captains are doing around the school. Next week we will have a look at another one of the young leader groups.
