The Student Voice and Agency Team

How the students at Albanvale Primary School is having their say in the learning being done!

At Albanvale Primary School we have created a Student Voice and Agency Group to help improve student learning and engagement. This group consists of 10 students from grades 3-6. The purpose of this group is to empower students in believing that their voice matters and they have the powerto make change.

Last semester, we participated in Learning Walks, where students had the opportunity to observe teachers’ practice in various year levels. From this, students analysed the data collected during the Learning Walk and constructed feedback for educators to help improve their teaching.

The Student Voice and Agency Group is important because we give the teachers feedback to improve on to help all students learn better. The power of a Student Voice and Agency Group is that this feedback comes from a student’s perspective. This feedback provides clarity for teachers because students are the ones who are listening every day.
