Message from the Principal

Achieving Excellence Together

Dear Parents,

Welcome to this weeks newsletter. Teaching and learning has remained at the forefront this week as students continue to work towards their learning goals. If you haven't already, I invite you to access Seesaw to view your child's progress and celebrate their learning. If you are not connected to Seesaw please contact our front office who can support you with this.

School Council

Last week I communicated a Compass News Item asking for expressions of interest for Parents to join our School Council in a casual vacancy. I'd like to thank all those who contacted us and proudly announce our newest parent councilors:

  • Thi Ngyuen; and
  • Elina Anau

There contribution to our school council is invaluable and we know they will support us in our mission to achieve excellence together.  In March next year, we will again host elections to give the opportunity to any parent who wishes to join our school council in the future.

 Student Absences

Did you know you can record your child’s absence directly on Compass? Simply login, select your child’s name and click on ‘attendance.’ It is important for the school to be in the event of children being absent from school so that we may maintain accurate absence records. All unexplained absences will be followed up with a phone call to parents from our attendance officer. If you cannot record your child’s absence on Compass, you can also call the office on 9367 2167 or email us at Albanvale.ps@edcation.vic.gov.au

Compass Pay

This term we introduced Compass way for families to have a convenient and efficent method to pay and give permission for their child to attend school excursions. If you haven't already, check out our Compass Pay How to Guide available through the Compass Pay article.

 Prep Enrolment 2023

We have had a number of families submit pre-enrolment forms for their child to commence prep in 2023. In the coming weeks, families will receive information confirming their child’s enrolment and providing details about our upcoming Beginning School Program. We already have enough students to establish two classes for next year. With places filling up fast, we require families who might be interested in joining us to submit their pre-enrolment as soon as possible. We will be hosting a group tour in the coming weeks for prospective parents and would appreciate all families to encourage any parents who may be considering schools for next year to come along. Details about the School Tour will be published later this week through email, Compass, kindergartens and childcare centres, and future school newsletters.
