Knockout Football
On the 19th May the Knockout Boys Football Team traveled on a minibus to Burton to play against Burton Primary School in Round 1 of the Knockout Football Series for 2017.
On the minibus we all nervously waited to arrive at Burton Primary School which took about an hour. When we arrived we did some warm ups and stretching. Jye our captain won the toss. In the first quarter we kicked the first goal but they quickly replied with a goal. At quarter time we were up by 15 points the score was 3.3 19 to 1.0 6.
In the second quarter we played really well with lots of tackling pressure and dominated, scoring 4.3 to their 2 behinds. Which gave us a 40 point lead at halftime.
After half time we came out and played like we did in the second kicking 2.3 to their 1.1 giving us a 48 point lead at 3 quarter time.
In the last quarter we really dropped our intensity and Burton score 3.3 to our 3 behinds. We eventually had a 30 point victory. Final score 9.12 66 to 5.6 36. The team thanked Burton and the umpires after the game and then sang the LNPS song loud and proud.
Best players: Jye , Mitchell , Steven, Rick and Harry Fischer

Aiden G’s awesome goal inside the goal square. Hugo tapped it off to Aiden who broke a tackle and scored his first goal. The whole team came to congratulate him!
Alex taking a set shot from 20m and kicked the ground and the ball travels into the man on the mark.
- Anton winning a free kick for a push in the back. Anton shanking the kick and scores a behind from 5m out to ice the fresh cake.
The team show a high level of sportsmanship and collaboration. We are all looking forward to the next game.

Knockout Netball
On Monday of week 4 Lockleys North girls Knockout Netball had their first game versing Birdwood Area School.
Our team was Poppy, Sarah, Charlize, Tabitha, Rachel, Chloe, Evie, Lara and Kayla.
It was a very hard first quarter with Charlize scoring the first goal. Sarah and Chloe also scored multiple goals throughout the game, with the most scored during the third quarter. Unfortunately the final score was 10-43 knocking us out of the competition. Even though we were down by many points our girls held their heads high and fought until the end making LNPS proud.

FOOTBALL 2017
Season 2017 is underway – welcome to all our returning players and new players. This year we are lucky to have 2 teams in the competition with 30 kids across the two teams.
Its not to late to still join in and have some fun, for any queries about footy please email Kristy at LNPS.football@gmail.com
Big thank you to the parents who are helping out with our teams at the matches, from goal umpiring to half time oranges your help is greatly appreciated.
2/3 Football
We are under away again for the footy season and the 2/3 age group are performing very well with good listening from all players and their willingness to improve their skills will aid greatly in their development each week.
So far it is really exciting to see the new faces and what learning they are experiencing with more game time and any training sessions they can attend, which also goes for the students who played last year in our age group as it still amazes me how much improvement we see in them each time they play our great game. It is important to mention that we are very happy to see girls participating again this year and also our team grow from the start of the year with new additions with even a couple who have never picked up a footy before! There has already been some players who have kicked their first goal with our aim to have everyone scoring a 6 pointer before the season ends. We have had two very good captains to date, shared a few players to other sides that don't have enough, all players have now played in all sections of the ground and most importantly when we ask them to have fun they go about playing sport in the correct manner which will hopefully mean they develop into wonderful adults later in life.

4/5 Football
Footy’s back! And no one is happier than the coach! At the end of last season I was lost without the Saturday morning ritual and I’m so happy to be back.
With many of our players only having one year of 2/3 footy under their belts it awesome to watch just how much they have developed. Some have obviously been training hard in the off season and have made leaps and bounds in their technique and execution of their skills. Great job boys and girls. We also welcome some new members to the team and are proud to have 3 girls in our side.
Our first match was against White Friars, a much bigger and stronger side than ours. They were mainly years 5’s and that seemed to be the big difference. While the Jets put up a great fight we were out muscled in the match. The game was played in good spirits and the team learnt a lot.
The second game was at home against Hendon and our team fought hard again against a bigger stronger outfit. We had a few 2/3’s fill in for us and they played really well. The Jets took home the chocolates in a hard fought win LNPS 21 vs Hendon – 12 it was great for all at the ground.
Last weekend saw us up against West Lakes Shores. We had a few players unavailable and that really hurt the team balance. Again some of the 2/3s helped out they extra players so we had 4 players from the opposition play for us in each quarter. They were big, strong and fast and our guys struggled to keep up with them. It was however a great lesson for our team in resilience and tenacity to keep going even when they were getting beaten. I was very proud of the effort that every player put in and the way they conducted themselves. It gives us something to work on at training to prepare for our next match.
I would like to thank the Mums and Dads that get out and help with the training sessions. Your help is very much appreciated and your ideas are always welcome.
