Principal's Report

with Simone Roy

It was lovely to see the staff and students starting to settle into the rhythm of school again, after the holidays. The students had a whole week to kick the year off, which is always tiring for the first week back!

Swimming is the focus in PE and sport classes until the swimming sports have been run, so make sure your children are packing their bathers for the next few weeks. Swimming sports is on Thursday 16th February. Family members are welcome to come and cheer the teams on or volunteer some time to assist – contact Jenny Farrington at school if you would like to help out.

Last week, our IT support Aaron came in 2 days to network as many laptops as possible. He will be in today, but not next week. If your laptop needs to be networked, or is having issues, log your details via the school website’s BYOD link (just ignore the dates).

This week, staff will be treated to another session with Dr Rob Gordon, child trauma psychologist. He will be speaking to staff from all the schools in the local area about what signs we see in students and what we can do to help, as well as helping us to understand that staff need to look after themselves in order to be in the best position to be able to support our students. Rob spoke to staff last year and held everyone’s attention for well over an hour. He was so engaging that you could have heard a pin drop!
