BMGS Tennis – Round 8

Last Saturday we travelled out to Bathurst, enjoying the warm sunshine along the way, and escaping the afternoon heat later on.  Once again we played against St Stanislaus College, as a repeat of Round 1, but with better results.

The BMGS Odds team played the St Stanislaus Odds team. There were wins for Jesse, David, Otto, Hugo Lewczak and Jed. Jesse and David and Hugo and Jed won their doubles with Raph and Otto narrowly missing out in the match tiebreak. The coach from St Stanislaus was particularly impressed with the way in which Hugo and Jed played their doubles – assisting the less experienced boy from the other side and playing with good sportsmanship. Well done, boys. The Odds won 15 sets to 4.

The BMGS Evens team played the St Stanislaus Evens team. Neil won his singles and partnered with Eladie to win their doubles as well. Alex won his singles match, putting into action the skills learnt during training. Whilst the Evens lost 9 sets to 6, they are all continuing to improve.

Round 9 will be in Lithgow – we even travel away to get to our 'home' ground.
