From the Principal

We've had a busy start to the year here at Blue Mountains Grammar School, and one of the things that have made it so unique has been catching up with members of our community. As a community-focused school, it's always a pleasure to see parents and guardians actively involved in their children's education and supporting their growth by being involved in the life of the school.
Last Friday, without any pandemic interruptions, we had the pleasure of hosting our annual Icebreakers event. Welcoming more than over 130 people join us for an evening of relaxed conversation and socialising was amazing. It was an excellent opportunity to meet new families and catch up with returning ones, and it was a perfect way to start off the new school year. The time on the Coorah Lawn provided an opportunity to show gratitude and share together.
We also enjoyed the P&F Welcome Picnic at our Junior School campus at Wentworth Falls on Thursday, and we are also looking forward to our Picnic on the Lawn at Springwood on 10th March.
Speaking of new families, we want to extend a warm welcome to all joining us in 2023. We're excited to have you as part of our community, and we can't wait to see all the amazing things your children will achieve during their time here.
I am pleased to share with you that over 20 of our staff have stepped towards designing an exciting new Year 7 program for 2024. This project, which is based on the best of the latest research, will provide a strong and unique start for our students to ensure that we equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the future. It will be a unique but rich start to senior school. We will take our 105-year history of responding to what our students need and also use that to inform the decisions we make.
As a part of this process, I am thrilled to announce that our Director of Pedagogy and Innovation, Mr Chris Sanders, will soon be sending out an invitation for expressions of interest to participate in some focus groups about our school and some of the initiatives we are working towards.
At our school, we will always value the input and feedback of our community, and these focus groups will be a valuable opportunity for parents to have their say on important topics. We encourage all interested parents to participate in these focus groups and help us shape our school.
We continue to be committed to Blue Mountains Grammar School being a great place to learn, grow, and thrive, and we believe that the input of our community is a vital part of achieving this goal. We look forward to hearing from you soon and working together with you.
We look forward to a fantastic year ahead and can't wait to see what our students will achieve.
In partnership with you,
Mr Steven Coote
Principal
