In Week 3, Year 10 Visual Art students had the opportunity to participate in a workshop and artist talk with guest artist and Old Boy (2009), Dylan Jones. Dylan is a full-time practising artist whose work depicts scenes from everyday life, inspired by a variety of people and places and reflecting his strong interest in colour, composition and the simplification of form. He worked with the students to develop their own landscape composition, which will be completed in the coming weeks.

In Art Club this term, students have so far learnt how to roll clay into a slab from which they developed an embossed ceramic plate. In the coming weeks, they will move on to photography in preparation for producing a series of photographs that they will be able to enter into the Boarders’ Photography Competition (closing Monday 24 April) and ASHCam, the college’s annual photography competition which will be launched in term 2.
