School of Possibilities

IMPORTANT: VCE and VM Information Night

Wednesday February 22, 7pm - 8pm (Please note change of date from 15th February)

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is Victoria’s senior secondary qualification. It opens pathways to university, higher-level TAFE or VET certificate courses, apprenticeships, traineeships and the workforce. The VCE has expanded to include the Vocational Major, meaning students can study a new 2-year vocational and applied learning program within the VCE. The VCE Vocational Major will develop student's personal and practical life skills. It will help to prepare students for the next important stage of their life.

VCE/VM students and parents/guardians are requested to attend the college for a  presentation of important information for the VCE and VM program that our senior students are beginning in 2023. It is important that students enrolled in a VCE cours eof study and their parents attend the session. This includes the Year 10 fast-track students who are studying VCE Industry & Enterprise, or VCE Psychology.

We are looking forward to presenting this important information. Along with the presentation, there will be time allocated for students/parents/guardians to move into separate areas to hear specific information for VCE students and VM students, and to ask questions of the VCE Coordinator and the Applied Learning Coordinator.

Please note the date in your diary and we look forward to seeing you on the night.

VCE Unit 1 Industry & Enterprise Class

The inaugural VCE Unit 1 Industry & Enterprise class has started with much excitement! The class includes some Year 10 fast-track students. This week, the students have completed an OHS induction and successfully completed training on how to be safe at work. Here they are holding their certificates, after completing an online test on the general safe@work module, plus an industry specific module.

The students are now reflecting on where they would like to go for their structured workplace learning in the local Shepparton community.

Applied Learning

This week some of our Year 11 and Year 10 students headed off campus for their first day at GoTafe. With smiles on their faces and no doubt some butterflies in their tummies, these students took their first step towards gaining a nationally recognised tertiary education certificate as part of their senior secondary learning program here at St Anne's College.

We wish them well on this journey, hope they thoroughly enjoy their time, and know they will represent our school well.
