New Look Christopher J Morey Building

Stage 1a and 1b of the Morey Building refurbishment have been completed on time and opened to students for the start of the 2023 school year. This phase of the project includes six General Purpose Learning Areas (GPLAs), two Year 12 study spaces, a staff meeting room and a staff office as well as a Media classroom.

Further work will be completed in Term 1 that will see the introduction of specialist equipment into the Media classroom that will allow students to have access to the resources required to produce professional quality projects. Additionally, the School welcomes its first “Co-Lab”, a collaborative space for staff and students to meet in a visible location that allows for collaborative work to be undertaken.

School Principal, Dr Emma O’Rielly, welcomes this new resource as a place for teachers to work with students or other teachers in a space that allows for sharing of ideas. Being situated on the ground floor of the Morey Building means that the work undertaken in this location is visible to the students who pass by, exemplifying collective efficacy that has proven so effective in improving student outcomes.

Stage 2 is also well underway, and will deliver three additional GPLAs, an additional Year 12 study room, Head of House offices, as well as some much-needed office spaces for the Wellbeing team. This stage is due to be completed for the start of Term 2.
