Learning with InitiaLit

The following information will give families an outline about InitiaLit in the Reception (Foundation) year and what is involved in reading.

Home Reading

Home reading is a very important part of our Literacy program. After we have learned the first 2 sets of sounds, home reading will commence. This will be in Term 2.

Until then, please keep reading the social stories sent home, library books and your own picture books daily. As we learn each sound, you will also have the opportunity to complete the handwriting pages in the diary at home for consolidation.
