Homework

The homework expectations are:

• Homework is due weekly on Wednesdays.
• Students are to read 5 nights per week but only need to record their reading in their diaries for 3 nights.  A parent signature is to be organised by the student once they have completed their reading entries for the week.
• Students are to hand in their diary with their homework book. 
• The students are to complete a task from the weekly grid in their homework book or tasks can be done online and handed in on Google Classroom. * For the first four weeks of this term the students will do a science homework grid and we will then finish the term with the regular format offering a range of different activities for the students to choose from.
• A copy of each homework grid will be on Google Classroom.

How parents help with Home Learning:

• Read with your child. Please note that your child has a weekly library session for borrowing and has access to the HPS Ebook Library.
• Assist with personal spelling lists that may be sent home.
• Remind your child to proofread and edit their work before handing it in. 
• For extra English homework, students can do Literacy Planet.
• Mathletics is a great resource to prepare for assessment at the end of the year. There are a range of tasks to choose from depending on student need.
