Term 1 visual art classes is packed with colours, imagination and creativity!
Below are some images of us learning how to be an illustrator. We were inspired by the book called "House in the Night" by Susan Marie Swanson. We had a lot of fun imagining about what we can find at night time and light up in the dark! We learnt how to do different types of shading such as stippling, hatching and cross hatching.
Below are some images of our grade 6 students being engaged with painting their still life fruits using acrylic paints. They were inspired by an artist called Amelia Pelaez. We are very excited to finish this artwork with posca markers and adding patterns, shapes and lines.
Some selected Grade 6's are also enjoying their time at Art Club during lunch time. We are making pinch pots for a Mother's Day stall. After the pinch pots are decorated and fired in the kiln, we will be planting succulents inside it. We cannot wait to see how they will turn out look like!
Below are some images of us working on our monkeys and our display! They were learning about how to create different types of expressions on the monkey's face. We were reading a story book about "Grumpy Monkey" by Suzanne Lang to create our own inspiration. We learnt different types of watercolour techniques such as wet on wet and wet on dry. Some of us decided to also use oil pastels to create an oil pastel resist technique and some of us decided to use coloured pencil to create a mix media artwork. We love to use our own creativity to think of how we can express ourselves!
