Dear Families,

This week is a special one for us all, as we head into the season of Lent. Yesterday the school had great fun celebrating the long tradition of Shrove Tuesday and baking pancakes. Mr Hooper, Mrs Fiddock, Mrs Robbins and myself were on cooking duty and with the assistance of the Grade 6 Social Justice Team, we were able to feed the masses! Thank you so much for all your donations of pancake mixers. There are plenty left over, so they will be donated to the Winter Appeal next term.

Last week, the Social Justice Team held a ‘Zooper Dooper’ Day as a way to raise money for Caritas’ Lent program - Project Compassion. Including yesterday’s donations for pancakes, so far the school has raised close to $500! A fantastic effort and again, thank you for supporting our efforts. The Project Compassion theme for this year is - For All Future Generations. I strongly encourage you to visit their website to see the amazing work they do. Caritas run this program spanning across six weeks of Lent each year bringing thousands of Australian schools, parishes and supporters together to raise funds for people living in some of the most vulnerable communities across the world.
