Message From Our

Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Lent begins today and classes 1-6 went to Mass and received the Ashes on their forehead. Fr Grace reminded us that this is a time of preparation for Easter when Jesus died and rose again, showing His great love for us. We use this season to do little things that help us to grow closer to God. We also use this time to support Caritas and the wonderful work they do making our world a more just place for all.

Our Opening Mass for 2023 was a lovely celebration and a very special way to commence our new school year. Thank you to Fr Jackson for leading the Mass, Emily Slaughter for organising it and to the children for their prayerful participation.  Special thanks also to the many parents, friends and parishioners who joined us for the celebration.

A special thank you to Grant Fitzgerald [Catholic Education Sandhurst] for joining the Year 5/6s and their parents in their discussion on Cyber Safety last night. Grant was able to provide some excellent information and very strong messages about the importance of keeping safe on the net. I hope families continue these important conversations with your children. A particularly good resource to follow up the evening is the eSafety website.

We are getting very excited watching as the building is looking more and more like it’s finished. A few more things are being finalised and then we are in!!  It is hoped that this will happen in the next couple of weeks and then we can move into our beautiful new learning space.

Each week during Assembly I present an award to someone who is a wonderful example of the Sacred Heart School values. They follow our PBIS rules and are a shining light in our school and community. Congratulations to our first two students who have received the Principal’s Award, Molly Forster and Ella Kennedy.  Both these students have been exemplary in their roles as leaders of Sacred Heart.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to watch over our school community and bless us always.
