Secretary: Tara Barnes

Semester 1
We are rerunning the successful events from last year and have some new ideas. Please look out for flyers in your child’s bag for our upcoming Pizza Day (Athletes Day) and Hot Cross Bun Drive. We will alsobe holding the much-anticipated Mother’s Day stall! Further plans include introducing lunch orders and hosting a trivia night, we will keep you posted as we investigate these ideas further.
Our objective is to not only raise funds for the school, purchase items to meet the student’s needs, but to also run activities that are fun, follow students’ ideas, and encourage student and family’s participation.
We thank the school, office staff, Alan, and school council for their support. We would also like to thank Jacqui our previous president, who has set us up so well for this year.
We encourage you to join our meetings, and to also help on our special days. Please approach any of our committee if you have questions or to offer a hand.
We are looking forward to the year ahead.

Breakfast Club News
What another fabulous week in the Breakfast Club at Traf Primary School!
This week, Mrs Marslen and Mrs Burns caught up with Dom from IGA Trafalgar to say a big thank you for being one of our school’s very generous sponsors. IGA Trafalgar has been an amazing supporter of many school events over the years- this has included donations for the Year Two Sleepover but also donations of delicious cheese for our ever-popular cheese toasties, a favourite breakfast for so many Traf Primary students. Thank you IGA Trafalgar, for your generosity- it is very much appreciated by all in our school community.
Due to our generous donations, Breakfast Club has been able to support many families this term through the provision of Care Packages. Our Traf Pantry (found in the Gym Foyer), continues to be stocked with many excellent products, available to anyone - and they’re free! If you would like to receive a Care Package or know of a family who may benefit, feel free to drop into our School Office, see Mrs Burns or Mrs Marslen.
We also would also like to say thank you to all families who have generously donated tins of Milo to our Breakfast Club. As cooler weather approaches and Breakfast Club begins to introduce warm Milos, any extra donations would be most appreciated!
2023 Instrumental Music Update
We are currently sitting at 113 students studying with an instrumental teacher at TPS. All 5 current teachers are now booked out. However, I have started a waiting list and have 2 more teachers ready to start when numbers on the list are high enough. I am hoping for a term 2 start for both these new teachers if they have enough students. So, keep the forms coming in.
You can find a full description of the instruments we offer, bios of all the teachers and a digital instrumental music form here - TPS Music site/Instrumental. You can also get a form from the front office, or just outside the music room at the Instrumental form box. Return it to the front office or into the box and we can get lessons started as soon as possible.
Trafalgar Primary School offers students an extra-curricular Instrumental Music Program where students have the fantastic opportunity to learn and play a musical instrument of their choice. We hire specialised music instructors (professional musicians) that guide students in developing an appreciation and enjoyment of music in individual and small group lessons. Lessons offer an opportunity to have fun making music on the student’s chosen instrument and become a better musician under the guidance of an expert on that instrument.
