Junior Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday, 14 February the Junior School had their first House carnival of 2023 with the swimming. It was also the first real job for the newly elected House Captains and Vice Captains. All three carnivals finished with exciting moments in the relay events.

The first of many highlights to come throughout the day was the Year 4’s 50m freestyle relay. Campion taking B division out closely and the A relay also taken out by Campion by a whopping 25m! The Year 5 relays were taken out by Campion again in the B’s. In the A’s Seth Cass came from 10m behind to win by a fingertip touch! The graduating class of 2023 had an exciting relay session.

Both divisions were taken out by Queens. But it was the tight finish for 2nd and 3rd in the A division which had everyone up and cheering. Another amazing carnival complete and an awesome squad of swimmers have now made the interschool team to begin training for victory at the PSA Inters.

Starting Term 1 as a Year 6 student has been a lot of fun. We have been able to welcome in all the new students to Trinity by showing them the TC Spirit and teaching them to be a ‘Man for Others’.

Thursday’s sports fixtures for the year 5’s and the new year 6’s has been their first time competing for Trinity against the other PSA schools. We are all very proud to represent Trinity in the blue and green on the sporting fields.

The Friday of Week 2 was a very special morning for the Junior School leaders. We all received our badges at mass in front of our parents, teachers and students. In the afternoon we then were given the role of reading out the Honour Cards for the first time.

This was not just a regular assembly, it was a TOBA assembly where a 6B student received the TOBA award from Mr Peter Torres. A fantastic welcome to the school year for all of us and a reminder of what it means to be part of the TC family.

A Further Note from Metha Skulmanayeunyong...

Well we have just finished our first three weeks of being Year 6’s. These few weeks have been very rushed and hectic as we had our first assembly, our leadership badges blessed and our first TOBA assembly.

The first week of 2023 was a bright and new start to the year until I found out I had to talk in front of the entire school! I was very nervous but after a bit of practise I got the hang of it and somehow I managed to MC the first whole school assembly alongside the College Head Boy, Joel Carcich.

The opening assembly was quite an experience for our new Year 4 boys as many of them had not been to a school with quite so many people in it. On that day many of the new students had their first experience of this magnificent College and many were quite in awe at the sight of 1300 boys looking at them.

The badge blessing Mass was also an experience for us Prefects as we had the challenge of reading for the entire mass with only 12 boys. It was quite the challenge for us but we managed, got our badges blessed and were on our way to become great Prefects.
