Messages from Mrs Trewick

WE ARE PEOPLE OF STRENGTH - WE ARE PEOPLE OF GENTLENESS.

Dear Parents and Carers

There has been a lot on during the last two weeks that has involved much of our community. It is a great feeling to be in a place that resembles 'normal' for now.

There will be much talk about community connection this year. When I speak about that I am referencing the many different ways we, as a community connect. Families, friends, children and colleagues are members of our community and the work that everyone puts in to create a support and inclusive school is appreciated.

During the last two weeks, we have held the Parents & Friends and School Advisory Council meeting. Thanks to those that attended and have put their hand up to work for all children in our school community.

Families received a letter yesterday. It was sent by email on Thursday morning and hard copy Thursday afternoon. It was also attached to the Daily Message on Thursday morning. I have included it in this newsletter under 'Teaching and Learning'.

Reminder - SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS

I've had a couple of messages of late about children in St Joseph's school uniform not living our expectations outside of the school grounds.

As we educate our children to be COLLABORATIVE, CONFIDENT, COMPASSIONATE, INCLUSIVE and COURAGEOUS we hope that they do this in a Safe, Respectful and Responsible manner.

As partners in a child's education, we ask that parents and carers use the time outside of school hours to support the teaching of these expectations and outcomes.

Assembly

Assembly will be on a Monday at 2.15pm in the Amphitheatre.

The change to the Assembly time is due to the children having a Kelly Sports session every Friday. Previously Bluearth was fortnightly.

We will celebrate our first Assembly on Monday 6th March.

NEW DATES FOR YOUR CALENDAR!

Thursday 23 March - Welcome Night!

Tuesday 28 & Wednesday 29 March - Learning Conversations

We have many children and staff battling illness at this time. Please make sure you take the time to care for yourself. Let us know if we can support your family in any way.

Take care and stay in touch.
