Camp Out on the Oval

Friday 29th November

What a great night everyone had on Friday night, despite the weather! We had about 45 tents pitched on the Charlie Kenez oval and there was over 130 people for dinner. The kids had a ball looking at all the tents, playing in the school grounds then watching a movie after dinner. After a supper of hot chocolate and cake, then a night walk around the grounds looking for wildlife, all was quiet from about 10.30pm.

After surviving some heavy rain overnight, the campers got up to a great cooked breakfast of cereal, pancakes, bacon and eggs – a few of the parents looked a bit bleary eyed, but nothing that an early morning cup of tea or coffee couldn’t fix!

A huge thank you must go out to all the wonderful parents and teachers that volunteered their time to set up, cook, serve, wash up and pack up – their help makes these events possible. Special thanks must go to the Delaney's, Brad Frost, the Huppe's, Janine Stockdale, Scott Palmer,  Tahni Ross, Rachel Ivin and Jeff Fuller for their amazing efforts. Thanks to the other parents, office staff and teachers that gave us a helping hand as well. Special mention to Bushy Park for their support of the event by giving us the green groceries at wholesale prices.

The Camp Out raised just over $2,500, a fantastic effort!
