Camp Out

Last Friday evening our school oval was looking very exciting, as tents started popping up from the late afternoon. Deck chairs and camping equipment soon let our local community know that Syndal South was hosting a very special evening.

The intermittent showers of rain throughout the evening did not put a dampener on the  event, as students and parents snuggled down in the  BER to watch Rise of the Guardians and was enjoyed by all.

To Fiona and Mark, a huge thank you for organising our 2019 School camp out. It is one of the events on the school calendar that our families look forward to attending. We encourage any families who have never attended this event to come along next time and give it a go. 

Plastic Bottle Top Collection

Thankyou to all of our families who have been continuing to support Syndal South's plastic bottle top collection. Thank you to the Macdermott family for the super collection of bottle tops below. As you can see we are doing a great job, but are still happy to take more.

Final Working Bee 2019

A huge thank you to all our families who have supported our school this year and given up their time to help with our working bees. We are very privileged at Syndal South for our students to learn in such a magnificent environment. We have arranged for our final working bee for this year to be held on Sunday 15th December commencing at 9am and finishing with at sausage sizzle at 11am.  We look forward to many hands making light work of the set tasks for that Sunday morning.

Year 5/6 Bushfire Fundraiser

Well done to our 5/6 cohort who organised a fundraising day today to raise money for children who have been or are currently affected by the devastating bushfires.  This fundraiser is the culmination of their inquiry unit this term  "As a global citizen how can I make a difference?" .

The 5/6 classes ran stalls and activities for the children to participate in.  There were 8 stalls including: chocolate toss, icy poles and home made crafts. By providing their time and products, as well as raising money, students were demonstrating how they could give back to the community. It was a fantastic fundraiser, raising just over $2,000.

Year 6 Transition

Next Tuesday, our 2019 year 6 students will be attending an exciting day at their new secondary college. It is always a great day as our students have the opportunity to meet their teachers for 2020 and also have the chance to start making connections with students from neighboring primary schools.

We wish all the best to our Syndal South year 6 students and we hope they have a fabulous day.

Foundation - Year 5 Transition

As the year 6 students embark on their Year 7 transition adventure, Syndal South will also be hosting an orientation day from 9am until 1pm. On Tuesday 10th December all students (including newly enrolled students) will have the chance to complete fun activities at their new year level. 

Our 2020 Foundation students will also be arriving at the later time of 9.30am and they will have the opportunity to work and play in the Foundation classrooms as part of the Kinder to school transition process.

We wish a warm welcome to all the new families who will be commencing at Syndal South in 2020.
