Hockey

Well done to the O’Connor boys who played for New England in the u15 hockey State Championships over the weekend. The boys, who were coached by year 11 student Jake McCann, unfortunately went done in the semi final to give them third overall.

Cochrane Cup

Nice work at the Cochrane Cup. 1 win, loss and 2 draws against much bigger opposition for our boys. Some of our Year 7 and 8 girls Oztag team also participated in the Cochrane Cup!

Great sportsmanship was demonstrated by all students. Welldone!

Dio Gala Soccer

DIOCESAN GALA SOCCER REPORT

Both boys teams won at the Inverell gala day. Seniors def McCarthy 7-1 (the only seniors game). Junior boys went undefeated through the pool rounds and did not let in one goal. They played McCarthy in the final and were 0-0 at full time. In an uncanny echo of the Bill Turner game against ASC, the game went to penalties but this time we won penalties 3-2.

The junior girls also made the finals and like the boys had to go to penalties. Unfortunately they lost to St Mary's College Gunnedah.

The next step will be to play the winners of the Lismore diocesan competition at Coffs Harbour.

Well done to all players
