Duke of Edinburgh Award - Adventurous Journeys 2019

Training will begin for our new Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students on Monday 25 February in A3 from 3.30 – 4.30 pm.  This training is in preparation for their Adventurous Journey. Due to risk minimisation considerations, students who do not complete this pre-training will not be permitted to complete the Adventurous Journey component of their Duke of Edinburgh Award through the College.  Many companies external to the College offer these Journeys.  A permission note can be collected from Mr de Silva or the Outdoor Education notice board (outside Mr de Silva’s office). Students are advised to read the school daily notices.

Training has already commenced for our Silver and Gold participants in preparation for their Adventurous Journey at the end of Week 4.

A reminder that Cocurricular commitments always take priority over organised College Adventurous Journeys.

Volunteering with 'At Home with Willoughby'

  • Do you have some spare time now the school year has started?
  • Is volunteering one of your new year’s resolutions?
  • Could you give a couple of hours a month to help support Willoughby City Council’s services for elderly members of our community?

Volunteering is a fantastic way to make new friends, learn new skills, and ‘give back’ to your community. We have volunteer roles Monday – Friday, assisting with services like Meals on Wheels, taking an elderly client out to the shops or for a coffee, helping change bed sheets for someone who is no longer able to, or assisting with social lunches or outings.  Join a great team and make a real difference to others!

To find out more about our volunteer roles please contact Tara Russell, At Home with Willoughby Coordinator Tara.Russell@willoughby.nsw.gov.au or 02 9777 7831.
