Level 3 Cards of Gratitude
The Level 3 students were learning about the greatest gift you can receive at Christmas time and that is being with the people you love. We discussed how firefighters, police officers as well as doctors and nurses give up their time to work on special days like Christmas. They sacrifice time with their loved ones on Christmas to care for those in hospital, fight fires and keep us safe in our communities.
We made cards as a token of gratitude for all that they do in our community, and to wish them a Merry Christmas.
Level 5 Activities
The Level 5’s have been undertaking activity groups of woodworking, sewing and cooking. The woodworking group have been planning and drawing onto their wood the final design, ready for sanding. The sewing group have created patterns and are then using felt to create stuffed objects.
The cooking group planned a menu for all the level 5’s to eat. They then spent Tuesday morning cooking and preparing all the food including vegetarian burgers, crepes, brownies, beef burgers, chocolate-coated strawberries and sugar biscuits. The food was fantastic and was a great way to end our Boy-Girl sessions for the year.
Level 5 had the choice of doing three activities which were sewing, woodwork and cooking. These activities were somehow related to Christmas! Each activity group had around 25 people in it. Every cooking group had about 4-6 people in it. We all had the choice of cooking a meal for the year level. Some of the things we cooked were brownies, crepes, chocolate dipped strawberries, mini beef and vegetarian burgers and sugar cookies. A week before we started cooking we had to plan what we were going to make and write down the ingredients so Ms Beagley could buy it, then on Tuesday the 10th of December we started cooking, some groups took 15 minutes and others took 4 hours aka us! Overall, it was a lot of fun and we spent lots of time chatting, laughing, singing and working as a team. We would like to thank Ms Beagley and Mrs Clow!
