Star Of The Sea Visit

During Week 2 of Term, the College hosted fourteen students and two teachers from Star of the Sea College in Brighton, Melbourne. The students visited the College as part of a pilgrimage to celebrate the Tercentenary of Nano Nagle, the founder of the Presentation Sisters. The site where Kildare Catholic College is located today marks the site of the first school set up by the Presentation Sisters Wagga Wagga who went on to found 27 schools including Star of the Sea. The Star of the Sea staff and students spent four days at the College immersing themselves in the culture of Kildare boarding at Mount Erin and attending classes with Year 9 students. Students also visited the Mount Erin Heritage Centre, Erin Earth and attended the Tercentenary Liturgy at St Michael’s Cathedral.
We look forward to maintaining our connection with Star of the Sea and are planning a reciprocal visit in 2019.
