Week 4 Term 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we enter into Week 4 of Term 2, it has been so lovely to hear and see our students talking about all the experiences and learning opportunities they have had so far. In the first three weeks, we have experienced:

  • An Official School Opening
  • Foundation & Year 1/2  students attended an excursion to the zoo
  • Year 5/6 students attended camp to Sovereign Hill
  • We have welcomed parents into the classroom to engage with their child in a Mother’s Day activities
  • We have held a Whole School Art Show

All these learning opportunities and experiences truly make us a vibrant learning community.

It has been noted by potential 2023 Foundation parents during their school tours how respectful our students are with their friends and their classroom teacher. I truly believe that this is what makes St Fidelis School so special and unique. The relationships that students have with each other and with their teachers should be commended and recognized. Thank you for your ongoing support in collaborating with us in your child’s learning so that they are able to continue to celebrate their milestones both at school and at home. I look forward to seeing students continuing to thrive in their own special way for the rest of the term.

ART SHOW - Thank you:

Thank you to all the families who attended our Art Show last Friday night, it was an opportunity to showcase some of the students work in The Visual ARTS curriculum and an opportunity to connect as a community. Congratulations to Mr Frazzetto for passing on his love of ART to our children.  If you have not seen the Art Display, it will remain on display in the hall until Tuesday after school this week.

NAPLAN

Our Year 3 and Year 5 students have done an amazing job in participating in NAPLAN tests last week. This year the testing is online and adaptive, which means as a child progresses through the test, the questions become easier or harder depending on their responses. NAPLAN is one piece of data we use, along with school assessments and observations. This provides us with information regarding individuals and groups of children, which helps in targeting learning for students. So far, all went well with the internet and our devices. Any student’s that were absent have the opportunity for catch up tests this week.

SCHOOL FEES 2022

There are still families that have not paid ANY school fees this year. We prefer progress payments as the school has many recurrent costs so prompt payment is appreciated.
