A Day in the Life of Breakfast Club
As the Breakfast Club opened up, six students were selected to help organize and prepare breakfast for those who were hungry. The toast popped up and our aprons were on, we were ready to work! Tasty toast with a range of spreads, a platter full of freshly cut fruit, kids were greeted by friendly faces. The butter melted on the toast as we handed it to a customer. After working from 8:15 to 8:35, we were all ready to make the kitchen squeaky clean. As the school bell went off, we were ready for the next successful morning.
Coffee Club
SPLASH! SPLASH! As they pour the boiling hot water in with the coffee. One cookie each with as many sugars as you need. Our amazing year 6 leaders are introducing parents to Coffee Club which is open from 2:15 pm until 2:35 pm each Friday. We encourage you to bring your own coffee cup (to be environmentally friendly), but if you can’t, we supply paper coffee cups. On your way past, you will see that we have a suggestion box for our school. So you can make any suggestions for improvement by using the QR code, or we have paper for you to write down a suggestion. Why not come on by!?
Debating
We went to Thomas Acres and it was very nerve-racking for everyone (especially Mrs Harris - Mr Harris' wife). They took us to the room to get started. We planned for the whole hour, it was all hands on deck. After the hour had passed, all of the teachers involved, along with the students, came in to start the debate. Everyone's speeches were amazing. After we all debated, the Judge spoke, gave us some ideas and announced the winners. It was Thomas Acres this time. For our very first debate, we had so much fun and learnt a lot!
