Year 5/6 Camp

Camp Wyuna

Year 5/6 Camp

This week, all the 5/6s went to Camp Wyuna in Queenscliff. There were lots of exciting activities like pizza making, bike riding, a photo trail, Marine Discovery Centre and archery. In archery we learnt how to correctly use a bow and arrow; it was hard but eventually we popped all the target balloons. The bike ride was an epic adventure beside the sea. The waves crashed against the rock wall and sprayed all over us, we were cold and wet but we pushed on to complete the 8km ride. The Marine Discovery Centre had a wide variety of fish and sea life from all over Victoria. We got to hold crabs, touch sea anemones, look at fossils and feed abalone. The photo trail was like a scavenger hunt but with photos and clues, it was a great way to tour the camp and burn off calories. We also did pizza making, where we had to make the dough from scratch and choose our toppings, one of these toppings was an indigenous spinach.

The dinners were yummy and full of nutrition. The first night we had a disco and the second night we watched Shrek 1. After the night time activities it was time for bed. At lights out time, the teachers all thought we went to sleep…

The last day activity had to change as the weather was shocking. We got to play games inside and compete in a trivia tournament.
