Water Cycle Wonders

In Year 7 Humanities, students have been learning about the water cycle during their unit on Water in The World. Students have been studying the different stages of the water cycle and will soon be applying this knowledge to water scarcity in the world and investigating how humans can interfere with the natural cycle to reduce or exacerbate water scarcity in the world.

Last week the Year 7s used shaving cream, water, and food colouring to resemble the ‘precipitation’ element of the cycle. The shaving cream represented the cloud, and the food colouring signified the water droplets. Students were extremely excited to see how many food colouring droplets it would take before it leaked through the shaving cream – with no guess closely accurate.

The Year 7's did an excellent job in describing how the experiment linked to the water cycle.
