Grade Four

Grade 4 Report
Welcome back to school! It has been really wonderful for us to see all the smiling faces of our Grade 4 students, and the children have been so excited to see their friends again. We are very proud of the way that they have transitioned back into on-site learning and adapted to the changes in our classrooms, which include new seating arrangements, air hugs and lots of hand sanitiser!
Students have thoroughly enjoyed being back in the classroom, working on Maths tasks
together. We have been exploring the concept of chance and data. Students have been
learning about the chance of certain events occurring through participating in a variety of fun games using coins, dice and cards. They have been discovering how to express chance events through fractions, decimals and percentages. Students have also been working very hard on practising their multiplication tables.
In Writing, students have continued with their superhero themed writing from home learning. They have been enjoying creating writing pieces documenting their journey through The Superhero Academy, including their battle with the Atomic Tarantula on their first rescue mission! We have been focusing on improving our handwriting after extensive device usage from home learning. For the rest of the term, students will be using their writer’s notebook to create ideas for their independent writing pieces.
We would like to thank all families for their ongoing support throughout remote learning and the transition back to school.
