Strings

IPS STRINGS NEWS - update on program.

While the school has been silent over the lockdown weeks the sounds of strings have wafted from houses into the streets! Our year 3-6 violin, cello and bass players have been participating in remote lessons, practiced hard and taken the opportunity to ‘zoom’ ahead in their learning.

The String teachers would like to congratulate you all for rising to the challenges of remote learning and have been so pleased by the results you have achieved. Most students have actually gone beyond what they would have learned in normal, perhaps more busy circumstances and we would like to thank families for their support. The occasional child can operate perfectly well with very little involvement from parents but the majority fare much better with it. This might simply be help to remember to practice and approving smiles from across the room. Some parents have taken the valuable opportunity to listen in on the lesson.

Thanks again to parents, for whatever you have done to assist this progress.

We are very much looking forward to seeing our Start up Strings players again as these newest budding musicians only had 8 weeks of playing before the school term was cut short. When we are able to recommence we will be learning to use the left hand to play so many more notes and tunes!

We very much look forward to continuing all our before school groups and lessons at school when the time is right!
