Look I’m definitely not the next Steph Claire Smith, in fact I have been known to avoid a little bit of hard slog, but I am pleased to say I have been making the most of my excess ‘iso time’ and have been staying active.

I have the Healesville Football Netball Club to thank for this. They developed a remote team challenge in the hope that it would keep us motivated and fit until we are able to return to the court or field. They have a nifty formula that converts your km’s and sessions into points for your allocated team. Much to my surprise (truth be told, I didn’t originally want to be part of it) it's really working for me! I have learned about accountability to my teammates and have way exceeded what I thought I was capable of.

My fave new spot to rack up some km’s is the Yarra Valley Rail Trail. You get warm sun all on your back all the way from Yering to Coldstream in the mornings and its pretty huffing and puffing your way through the farming paddocks away from the cars.

Last week racked up 53.77kms for my challenge team! Who even am I these days?

I was supposed to go the Australian Athletics Championships in the last week of Term One in Sydney and compete in Hammer, but disappointingly this was cancelled due to Coronavirus.

My training sessions start up again this week as I usually have a six week break after the Australian championships when I don’t throw hammer.  I have been doing weights and core sessions

at home to ensure that when training starts up I am ready.

I am trying to talk Dad into putting in a hammer ring at home, so I can practice whenever I like.
