remote learning in unit LD

Hello to all amazing remote learners - both big and small.

I can not believe that we have completed week five of term 2 already! Although there have been some speed bumps along the way this term with remote learning, the students of LD have been working with great enthusiasm and have taken so much pride into their work at home. I couldn’t be more proud to be their classroom teacher!

This week, Unit LD went far and beyond to ensure they were ‘bucket fillers’ for this week’s wellness challenge. As we know during these strange times, a kind word goes a long way and can really make someone’s day. Unit LD made wonderful posters including drawings and wonderful messages to brighten someone’s day.

So it's the end of Week 5 of Remote Learning and the Middles are now fully emerged in their Inquiry Unit 'Extreme Weather'. They have been fine tuning their research skills, expanding their scientific vocabulary and deepening their understanding of the differences between weather and climate, extreme weather events and geological events. The Inquiry unit has provided lots of opportunities for cross-curriculum learning in literacy, science, geography, environmental science and numeracy.

Given the success that Alice, Jessie and all the Specialist teachers have had in using the school blog for sharing useful and important information with our community, we’ve decided to jump on board and this week we are excited to launch our Literacy blog. In our first post, we share tips on how you can best help your child with reading at home. Here’s the link: http://bnwps.global2.vic.edu.au/

If you have any ideas, suggestions or specific questions that you’d like us to cover on the blog, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks.
