New Developments - Junior School

You may have noticed a few changes to the old Junior School playground area. This is in preparation to commence a large construction project designed to enhance the Junior School.

The new project is designed to upgrade the learning environment and will include 8 generous classrooms, common learning areas, bag areas, storerooms and student amenities. The facility will be linked to the original building which will, at a later stage, be upgraded and refurbished with fewer classrooms, as well as creating specialist rooms. There will also be the addition of a covered play area. The school is not building these facilities to allow for any further significant growth of enrolments, but rather to upgrade facilities for existing students, and expect the project will take about 18 months to complete. Please excuse the inevitable mess and disruption throughout the building process.

Library Book returns

As students resume school next week, please take the opportunity to return all library books.

The Returns Box will be placed outside the DC door (weather permitting) and books should be placed there for the DC team to process. We trust the students have enjoyed the prolonged time to enjoy their books.

Library Book loans

Currently the DC is closed for physical borrowing, however an online reserve system will be made available over the next few weeks. More news on this system and how you can reserve books at school or from the comfort of your own home will be provided next week

Language Perfect World Championship

Our school has been participating for a number of years now in a worldwide competition that showcases the students' abilities in languages in terms of vocabulary and grammar.

The 2020 Language Perfect World Championship is on this week and, as always, the French students of Belgrave Heights Christian School are doing a wonderful job. Our school is currently third for French in Victoria and fourth in Australia. Our students have answered more than 170,000 questions, with 31 of them already securing various awards for themselves. The competition ends on Thursday at 4.00 pm, so until then: "Allez BHCS!"
