Emmanuel College

During remote learning experiences it has been more important than ever for teachers to personalise the learning of their students. Maths is one area where personalised learning excels at Emmanuel College. Implementing the Maths Pathway program has seen incredible growth in Maths learning for many students. It is far more advanced and tailored for students than traditional secondary school Maths programs. Please find a link below that highlights how Maths Pathways has been of benefit to our students.

HOLY TRINITY PARISH

One of the most rewarding things about being a part of the Emmanuel community is seeing the way that the young people successfully move from primary school to secondary school. The  transition experience is a very important element in this success. At Emmanuel, our transition program commences in the March of a child’s Grade 6 year with the Amazing Race event where students and families come along to a family sausage sizzle and then the students head off and do an amazing race with all of the other incoming Year 7s. They start to familarise themselves with the campus, meet new friends and interact with some of the teachers they will have when they start with us. This is one of 5 events that students are involved in during their final year of primary school, so when they walk through the door on their first day of secondary school, it’s not frightening at all.

Please use the link below and enjoy a short video of some of the events and some thoughts of Emmanuel students who participated in the events as primary school students.

The commencement of the year was exceptional for the students as they had been a part of an extensive transition program before they even started. Since commencing with us, they have enjoyed our ‘Life to the Full’ transition program. An important part of that program was the camp to Portsea that the Year 7s loved during Week 5. This was a great opportunity for them to make new friends, get to know their new teachers in an informal environment and challenge themselves with a range of exciting activities. Please find a video of the camps for each campus in the links below for you to enjoy.
