New Resource area

Our new Library/STEM space! It’s so good to have the full library collection back together again.  A great space where Library/STEM lessons and activities are conducted.  Once the furniture arrives, it will look even better!

2A STEM Challenge

Mrs Fava's class took part in a STEM challenge this week.  They had 6 pieces of newspaper, 60cm of tape and 35 minutes to make the tallest, strongest, free standing tower.  Congratulations to the winning team!

Fun with the Preps

On their first day back at school the Preps enjoyed a Teddy Bears Picnic and other great activities together.

Student Achievement

Congratulations Paige O (2A) on completing the '5km Run for the Kids'.  Paige started training for the annual outdoor event with Mr Menadue and fellow students, when sessions were held at school prior to closure. Unfortunately Run for the Kids event was cancelled, so the family donated their entry fees and Paige instead ran a virtual event with her Dad.  A fantastic achievement!

We hope the school will be able to coordinate a team entry once again in 2021.

Outdoor Play at QoP

Students have been enjoying the glorious sunshine this week!

An interesting article from raisingchildren.net.au:

Outdoor play is good for your child’s physical health, development and self-confidence. It’s great fun too!
Playing outside gives your child the chance to explore the natural environment and have adventures. She can play games, test her physical limits, express herself and build her self-confidence.
Bumps and bruises when playing outside: It’s natural to worry that your child could hurt herself when playing outside. Sometimes your child might be worried about trying something new. This is all a normal part of outdoor play, and these worries shouldn’t keep your child from playing outside.
It’s OK for your child to push the play boundaries outside, where he has room to run faster, climb higher and jump further.
It might mean some tears, a scrape or a fall, but ‘risky play’ helps your child learn from mistakes and bounce back.
Children who have been kept away from these outdoor experiences are more likely to get seriously hurt when they have outdoor experiences.
Wet or wintry weather doesn’t mean you and your child have to stay inside – in fact, it can fire up your child’s imagination and creativity. You could try walking with an umbrella and raincoat, watching leaves float after rain, and jumping into or over puddles in gumboots.
