Malvern Primary Sports Wrap

Term 1

House Swimming

On Monday 13th February, we held our House Swimming Sports for students in Grades 3-6. There were some great results and efforts from everyone who participated. Students who swam the fastest time in each stroke made it through to the District Team.

District Swimming

On Friday 3rd March, the District Swimming Finals were held at Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre. We had 28 students represent our school at this event where they gave their all and produced some outstanding results. Students and teams that finished 1st in their heat, progressed through to the Division Finals. As a school, we performed extremely well and came 3rd overall behind Lloyd St Primary and the winners, Malvern Central Primary School.

Congratulations to Sunday L (Butterfly), Will S (Butterfly) and Grace W (Backstroke) for making it through to the Division Finals by winning their individual races. Congratulations to the 9/10 Girls Freestyle Relay team and the 12/13 Boy Freestyle Relay team for both winning their races and making it through to the District Finals.

Division Swimming

On Tuesday 14th March, the Division Swimming carnival was held at Oakleigh Recreation Centre. The students below competed extremely well and produced amazing results against some very tough schools. Only the winner of each race made it through to the Regional Swimming Finals. Well done to all of you who represented Malvern Primary at Division Swimming.

District Tennis

On Thursday 16th March the District Tennis Team trials were held at Malvern Primary. Well done to Will P, Levi R and Lola B for trying out for the team, and congratulations to Levi and Lola for making the final District Tennis Team. The tournament is being held on Thursday 6th April at Maccabi Tennis Club. Good luck to you both.

Lightning Premiership

On Friday 31st March, our Grade 5/6s competed in the Summer Lightning Premiership Day. We participated in Softball, Cricket, Basketball and Volleystars. We were very competitive in each sport and had a fun and enjoyable day.
