After a wet dress rehearsal on Thursday, we had a great day at our annual RHPS House Athletics Carnival on Friday the 24th of March! The main focus was having fun, having a go and putting into practice all of the learning from PE in Term 1.
A HUGE thank you to the parents and family members who helped on the day – especially at such short notice! The generosity of your time is truly appreciated! Thank you to the staff for their assistance and support with the preparation and running of the day. Also, a big thank you to Wendy for setting up the pop-up canteen at the track on Thursday morning, only to have to pack it up and run the canteen back at school. It was certainly the place to be at lunchtime on Thursday!
Finally, WELL DONE to our fabulous students! The effort and encouragement on the day was outstanding! Results were as follows:
1st – Freeman – 670 points
2nd – Bradman – 655 points
3rd – Thorpe – 635 points
4th – Rafter – 570 points
Congratulations to Amber and Chelsea who competed in the Eastern Metropolitan Region Swimming Championships on March 24. Both girls swam exceptionally well! Amber finished 5th in the 12/13 girls 50m freestyle and Chelsea finished 6th (with a PB) in the 9/10 girls 50m freestyle. What an outstanding achievement to make it to this level of competition. Well done girls, we are very proud of you!
Congratulations to Jess, Hurley, Bhargav, Blake, Kurtis, Haady and Ollie who participated in the Montrose District Tennis Competition on Tuesday the 28th of March. All students played extremely well, demonstrating good skills and fair play. Well done!
