Getting active has been the key to Term 1

In Lifestyle and PDHPE students have been getting active through a range of movement contexts!

Year 7

Our Year 7 students have started their high school journey discovering what GRIT is and mental health. In practical lessons they have been competing in mob groups to complete a range of “Survivor “style challenges that focus on building teamwork, resilience and creative problem solving skills.

Year 8

Year 8 have been exploring all things Cyber Safety through the Click, Like Share unit of work. We have looked at a range of issues online from Sexting, Cyberbullying and how to create respectful online communities. We look to seeing the Cyber safety campaigns the students will design.

Year 9

PDHPE have been getting active through a range of fitness based games. Students have considered how health related fitness components can be improved through games. Students have been busy designing their fitness games and will develop their presentation skills as they lead their peers through their developed fitness games!

Yr 10 PDHPE have been considering what makes a respectful relationship. In theory lessons they have discovered the qualities of a respectful relationship and in practical lessons they have been refining their movement skills through a collaborative dance routine that they have choreographed.

Celebrating Sporting Success

Our S.P.O.R.T program has had a busy start in 2023 with squads representing in Cricket, Touch Football and Basketball in CHS competitions.

Our extra curricular period on Thursday’s has provided our squads with dedicated training times which both our coaches and students have enjoyed. Our Soccer squad has been enjoying the expert coaching from Advance Football Centre who have been impressed with our students' skills, attitudes and overall sportsmanship. We look forward to continuing our relationship with external coaching providers.

S.P.O.R.T. SQUAD SAY THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS

The growth of our S.P.O.R.T. Squad has been nothing short of fantastic.  Students are engaging in school through sport, participating in individual and team representative sports, undertaking elite coaching clinics as well as being sports ambassadors for our school through refereeing opportunities.

What genuinely adds to the success of the squad is how proudly our sports people are wearing their dress shirt and then doning their uniforms which have been generously sponsored by local businesses.

We invited our sponsors to an afternoon tea to meet their teams, observe a soccer coaching clinic with the Advanced Football Centre and be presented with a framed shirt from their respective teams.  The squad encourage and welcome our sponsors to attend any of their teams sporting engagements.
