Dr Andrew Butt, Program Leader Co-curricular Arts
The last few weeks of term have been a busy time for Marist Performing Arts students, with many successes across the College. One of the definite highlights was the Year 5 Musical Joust, with some outstanding performances across the cast. This collaboration between curriculum and performing arts has seen many successes over the years, and this year's production gave clear evidence of how this relationship has been so positive. In this final week, we see another great tradition continue in a collaborative concert with the world-famous Voices of Birralee. The Pemulwuy Prelude Concert, being hosted by Marist Ashgrove, will feature guest choirs from Indooroopilly SS, Birralee Blokes, and Brisbane Grammar School. This concert is a prelude to the Pemulwuy National Male Voice Festival, which is held every three years in Brisbane and is a special celebration of male singing.
In 2023, Marist College Ashgrove commences a new era with the integration of Co-curricular Arts Performances across multiple platforms. We look forward to a range of projects across the Arts space with physical and digital performances throughout Brisbane, Southern Queensland, and the world.
