Weekend Duty

A lot of Year 12 students are not turning up on their rostered weekends and this is a reminder that all students must complete at least 2 weekend duty rosters during Year 11 and 12. It is a requirement for the core unit of competency AHCWRK204 - “Work Effectively in the Industry”, which is required to complete Certificate II in Agriculture.

Just a reminder, that swapping weekend roster is strongly discouraged, but in the event this situation arises-

  • students must give a valid reason
  • two weeks’ notice to myself
  • and find another student to replace them

Students and parents have access to the roster through daily notices, Farm noticeboard, via email and the fortnightly College Chatter.

Third Party Reports

Over the coming weeks, the Year 11 and 12 students in VET Theory Class will be spoken to in regard to third party reports. With seeding and the busy season coming up for our farmers.  If you are completing any practical requirements that can go towards your units of competency, please get in contact with Mrs Corsini so you can complete some third-party reports when at home on weekends.

The third-party reports are evidence towards your Certificate II in Agriculture or Certificate III in Agriculture practicals. Mrs Corsini will send the 'what the requirements are' out via email.

We also will need, video evidence that supports the paperwork. Mrs Corsini recommends getting a USB, and putting all evidence on the USB each night or week, to bring back to the College on your return.  If any students are interested in completing these reports, please see Mrs Corsini. A reminder that all Certificate 3 students MUST:

  • Access off-site industry experience (self-arranged) targeting specific Units of Competency for additional workplace experience and exposure (undertaken outside of school hours). A minimum of 5 days is required at a College-endorsed workplace/s.
