Students in secondary school have made a great start to 2023. Students enjoy the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills that build their independence. Staff at school are always finding ways of acknowledging and celebrating students' success.
What a great start to 2023. It's hard to believe we have already finished the first term and are moving on to our second term.
We, the Primary school staff and students, are excited to give a peek at all the wonderful things going on in our school. It is always good to see our students building their confidence and getting settled, familiarizing themselves with the school routines, learning new skills and enjoying school. It is our staff's pride and joy to watch students gain confidence and work on their goals.
Many of our students are learning how to play with their friends, share, care for others, and build relationships. They are learning about the different feelings and the zones of regulation. Identifying the need for a sensory break and accessing sensory and movement breaks throughout the day helps our students better engage in activities. One of the main super skills we practiced was asking for a break. Regular teaching about the School Wide Positive Behaviors and super skills gives them many opportunities to practice these skills and help them better engage and experience success.
We want to thank all students, parents and staff for a great start to the year. We hope you all have a safe and happy Easter.
The Post School Expo, set up by the students from transition was fantastic! 13 service providers attended, along with a number of families and students.
The school lunch making program has been running during term 1 with a focus on student independence in ordering the stock, counting the orders, preparing the food and then delivering it to each class!
The Transition students have also been working in the community. The Meals on Wheels program has been running for all of term 1 with students delivering meals on a Friday.
Thank you to all the students for making these programs such a success!
