What a week to finish term 1 at Croydon SDS. Inclusion day yesterday was lots of fun, with students across the school engaging in colourful activities. Primary students were hands on decorating beautiful masks, while Secondary students made yummy cookies and Transition students were actively involved in a colour run.
It was great to have some students, siblings and parents/carers attend the community night last night. Students and siblings enjoyed the Easter activities, especially the Easter Egg hunt! Parents and carers heard about some school updates, Compass (online communication tool), our building project and school review. Our 2023 Parent Handbook was also distributed.
The parent handbook will be sent home to all families who were not able to attend the session.
Congratulations to our Easter Hamper raffle winners: Grady O, Lachlan L, Dennis M, Sarah F, Xavier A, Kevin W, Hamish M and Leo V.
It was a pleasure to announce our 2023 school captains at our Principal Awards School Assembly last week. Well done to all year 12 students for presenting a very good election speech, they are all worthy recipients.
Congratulations to Siraj and Sean for being voted by students across the school into these important roles. Siraj and Sean will co-host weekly Principal Award assemblies and take on other important school roles throughout the year.
All parents and carers should have now received an email with a link and login to Compass. You would have also received a temporary password to then be able to set your own. In term 2, Compass will be used to send out information, record student absences and consent for excursions and camps.
Today we say farewell to one of our ES staff members, Nathan A. Nathan will be taking 12 months leave to pursue other ventures.
We are pleased to announce that Ben P will return to Croydon SDS as the Thursday and Friday teacher in room 6.
Trudy Tice will continue teaching in room 5 on Thursdays and Fridays.
I wish everyone a lovely Easter period and school break, for time to spend with family and friends, as well as some rest and relaxation to recharge the batteries!
Enjoy indulging in some Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns!
See you in term 2!
