Principal's Message

By Jenny Hassett

Well, we made it!

It has been a huge term again for everyone in our community. Like you, I was hoping that we would have been back to a "fairly normal" routine by now- but not the case!

A huge thank you to each and every member of our community for everything you have done to support your family unit during these times. It has been extremely demanding trying to keep each member of your family "afloat" and in a relatively good place. Hopefully, it has further developed our stamina in dealing and coping with all the other challenges life throws at us.

Be brash with the praise you give yourself having to deal with the last 18 months.

Personally, it has been extremely challenging, but overall I believe it has made me stronger and more grateful for all the little pleasures in life.

Take care everyone and stay safe and happy over the holidays.

End of Term

For our Preps Grade 1's, Grade 2's and those with permission to be onsite (Grade 3-6) school finishes this Friday at 2.30pm.

If you need additional supervision for your child please contact Camp Australia and make a booking.

Term 4

Hopefully, all goes to plan and all our students (Prep- Grade 6) are back on site the first day of Term (Monday 4th October).

As you can imagine, this may change. I will watch for all COVID restrictions and updates that may affect our return. Please keep an eye on COMPASS, especially on Sunday 3rd October for key updates.

2022 Placement

At Rollins, we work thoughtfully to build future class groupings. Teachers work together (literally for hours) forming classes for the coming year. They consider student learning styles, behaviour needs, student personalities, gender (even numbers of boys and girls) and many other factors to create classrooms where students will work well together and with their teacher. It is a complex process. Our goal is always to create the most balanced classes possible.

Parents are invited to advise us of any considerations that they would like us to take into account for student placement in 2022. If you would like to take this opportunity, I ask that you provide your thoughts in writing to me, no later than Friday 22nd October 2021. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider requests after this date. Please note we cannot meet requests for specific teachers and, although we try our best to meet all requests, we cannot give guarantees.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

Hats

Probably not high on our list at this stage with COVID, but a reminder that school broad brimmed hats are to be worn by all students in Term 1 and Term 4. This is in line with our SunSmart policy. Hopefully, we are all here at the beginning of Term 4 to wear them.
