Selemat Siang and welcome back to Term 4! We hope you had a wonderful, relaxing school holiday break and were able to get out and enjoy some of the beautiful sunny days we had.

Although we are starting this term learning from home again, we are so excited to know that we will be getting back in the classroom all together very soon! We thank you all for your ongoing support through these challenging times.

Last Term we finished with a lot of exciting extra live sessions, including celebrating Footy Day where students were able to join in and practise their AFL footy skills. Another highlight was participating in the RSPCA live zoom session, where students were able to meet a few furry friends. It was super exciting to learn all about how to take care of each of these animals and about all the incredible work the RSPCA does for animals.

This Term we welcome Mrs Amanda Martin to our team. Mrs Martin is going to be taking over from Miss Dawson to teach FD while she is on her maternity leave. We wish Miss Dawson and Jamal all the best on this new and exciting chapter of their lives. Mrs Martin is very eager to meet everyone, here is a little bit about her.

This week we in Literacy we will be, continuing to work on our writing goals through writing a recount about our holidays and an imaginative recount. Students will also continue with Speaking and Listening by creating their own learning goals for this term and recording themselves speaking about these goals.

This week in Mathematics students will be exploring Graphs. Creating their own graphs to display data and interpreting the information in graphs by answering questions. In our Mini Maths sessions students will be creating their own question they would like to find an answer to, ask their peers that question, collect the data and then put that data into a graph.

Below is each class’s timetable. You will notice that we have uploaded choice slides this term as opposed to a choice board. It will run the same as our choosing board has in the past where students can pick one activity from the slides to complete each day.

This term our Guided Inquiry focus is Creativity: Topsy Turvy Tales, where students will explore the importance of creativity and give them a greater understanding of the topic. Throughout the unit, students will explore Fairy Tales and modify aspects of these tales to create their own.

Our Wellbeing focus will be a combination of revisiting our Zones of Regulation and character strengths. As well as being introduced to gender and identity, where we will explore how everyone can be whatever they like and like whatever they like no matter who they are.

We look forward to a busy and exciting Term 4!

Have a wonderful week,

Miss Jessica Tossell, Miss Brooke Henwood and Mrs Amanda Martin
