Curriculum

Selamat siang!

Welcome to Term 4! We hope that everyone had a relaxing break, we are so excited to see students back online and are looking forward to a big term ahead!

In Literacy sessions this week, students will be creating new goals for the coming term. We will be focusing on using previous work and assessments in Literacy and Maths sessions to help reflect on what the next steps could be. Students will also be using their note-taking skills to record how their thinking changes before and after viewing nonfiction texts.

In Maths sessions, we are beginning to look at fractions. Students will be involved in playing games to recognise common fractions and their equivalent values. We will also begin exploring fractions of a collection and how to represent these fractions in different ways.

This term, our Guided Inquiry topic is ‘Frame by Frame’ which will enable students to have a greater understanding of creativity and its importance! Throughout this unit, students will be creating many different presentations and will be exploring why creativity is a valuable part of lifelong learning.

Our Wellbeing focus is around Seeking Help. This will include discussions about how, when and where we may need to seek help from others. Students will continue to build their emotional literacy and ability to communicate their emotions and read the emotions of others.

Wishing you a fantastic first week back,

Mr Dix, Miss Gasowski, Mrs McCoy, Miss Molloy, Mr O’Connor and Miss Richardson :)
