Leadership Centre

Curriculum

It was a strong finish to Term 3 for our students in the leadership centre. We trust you all enjoyed reading through your child's work via Seesaw. Students continued to show pride and love of learning right to the end of the term and we thank them all for the efforts.

In Mathematics, students completed their Spinner Mania portfolio task. In this task, students were given "I can..." statements to complete following the 1, 2 or 3 star criteria. The 'I can statements' allowed students to work at their level to ensure they achieved success. It was great to see students challenge themselves with the task and celebrate their successes from the Statistics and Probability Unit.

In Week 10, students continued to enjoy reading, listening and viewing a variety of media in our reading sessions. This week's leadership podcast focused on mental and wellbeing issues and students were challenged to think about wellbeing within our school and how we can improve and/or build on ideas that we are already doing. This podcast was a great opportunity for our Year 5 students to begin tuning into school leadership opportunities in 2022. It was wonderful to see our students eagerly enter their books into the Premier's Reading Challenge. Thank you parents for supporting your students when entering the books read and well done to everyone who completed the challenge!

In Writing, students worked through a variety of choice board activities which were entertaining, thoughtful and at times, persuasive and political!

As we embark on the final term of school for 2021, we encourage our students to continue work at the high standard they have upheld all year. Having nearly two years of remote learning has been undeniably tough for everyone, but especially our students in the Leadership Centre as friendships and collaborative learning is so important to them.  We are looking forward to continually challenging and nurturing your children, they are in good hands.
